So after an eternity (or 5 months - whatever) I’m BACK! Sorry, post Eurotrip I’ve been slacking like mad. So, where were we when I left? Oh yes, talking about food… and not to worry, that hasn’t slowed down one bit…to make it up to you, here’s a recap of some of the edible goodness that’s come my way since we last rendezvoused:

Birthday Cupcakes: The Cupcakery

Apparently the loves in my life understand my sick obsession with baked goods. Above is a beauty shot of the cupcakes, a dear man friend of mine, hand delivered to my desk on the anniversary of my 25th year. With Boston cream pie, vanilla champaigne, GS cookie, The Cupcakery has baked its way right into my little doughy heart.

Victoria’s Pasta Shop: Norman, OK

If you’ve never made your way up to the (BOOMER) Sooner State for any of it’s a-may-zing offerings: Sooner Football, Sooner Fans, Bob Stoops… I’m giving you all a new reason to boot scoot your butts to Norman, OK, Victoria’s Pasta Shop. As I recently made a visit to my ol’ stomping grounds, I found myself back at one of my favorite foodie finds EVER, Victoria’s. This place is a little gem tucked away behind OU’s Campus Corner…with hand-made-to-order pastas such as “cracked pepper linguini with artichoke hearts and garlic” and “whole wheat angel hair with wild mushrooms” (a person favorite) they’ve earned a place in my little black foodie book. The shot above was actually the special of the day, with “special” not even begining to encompass the greatness baked into this dish: homemade tortillini, artichoke hearts, creamy SD tomato pesto, black olives, and fresh shaved parm - HOLY mother of gooey and delicious.

Taste of Greenville Ave: Dallas, TX:

Those little balls of meaty goodness above are none other than kobe burgers with carmelized onions and pan seared foie gras - that’s right, goose liver, a taste buds  wettest wildest dream. This year was the 1st Annual Taste of Greenville Ave and believe it or not, yours truly, did NOT venture out for the food, but for the croonings of Dan Dyer

(ain’t that a brie eattin’ grin if you’ve ever seen one?)

While at the TOGA not only did I get to hear this furry Austin local sing a tune or two but also got a sampling of Greenville’s finest eats:

Yo-go…licious

So, White Rock race training in the morning - which in short means I’ve once again convinced myself I can eat whatever suits my fancy, and the 5:30 run will burn it off. Whoop whoop!

So, on tonights menu…spicy chicken and zucchini fa-gee-tas. However, the true star of the show, Dreyer’s new “Tart Honey” fro-yo.

Man-O-Man…The flavor is not at all what one would expect, but once you get past the initial shock it’s all kinds of yum. The yogurt has a slight lemon flavor to it, with the honey swirls being tasty as hell. Needing proof, check this shizzzz out

That look just screams “where’d it go? and why was this cup do small???”

You know, when you say “frozen yogurt” to most, they conger up an ugly mental image of the 90’s chain TCBY. But I gotta tell ya, fro-yo’s come one hell of a long way. Doesn’t matter who you visit: pinkberry, orangecup, or your own local version (Yogo-licious) the new wave of brightly-colored, plastic-chair sporting, topping oasis’ yogurt shops are here to stay :)
